For many years we have been selling Harveys top end water softener with our label on it. We have always put it in the old case because we found the case super tough.
A few customers over the years have mentioned that it was looking a it 70's.
So as from today we are putting it in the up to date cabinet that other Harvey dealers use.
So the top of the range interior and exterior.

We got called to an old autotrol which had seen better days.
Before- not good
Unfortunately the kitchen fitter had built it in and the only way was to cut it out. At the same time we removed all of the old assortment of pipe work and hoses and replaced them in a correct manner
All copper and with the correct bypass.
One thing we keep seeing is water Softeners connected with washing machine hoses. These should not be used as most are not lined correctly for drinking water.

Looking after customers!
I spent 40 minutes on the phone yesterday with a competitors customer. He was a lovely man but was concerned about his new water softener and a new boiler he was having installed.
I explained all about the research that has been done and how we are working with plumbers to improve understanding of the benefits of softened water.
i asked why he had not rung the people who had installed his water softener and had they not explained all of this?
The answer- I have not been able to contact them, I left some messages but the have not come back to me.
So when you choose that new water softener it's good to think about who will look after you in the years to come.

A two man install this morning as the couple want to get away by midday. A lovely little holiday home in Corfe Castle suffering the woes of hard water

Christchurchs Hard Water
Lovely Christchurch and Mudeford in Hampshire suffers from very hard water.
This customer having had enough called around his local softener companies and after a full site survey we installed for him our top of the range Block Salt, twin cylinder water softener. made for us by Harveys.
It was a tricky install as the water main had been buried in a wall so the unit was fitted on a shelve that we reinforced in his airing cupboard.
The customer was delighted that all this was achieved by our own installers and with the knowledge that we offer a full 2 yearly service to keep their water softener in peak condition, plus the ten year warranty and salt deliveries.

We counted over 50 joints, well done that man but it had to go when we fitted a new Softi Block Salt Water Softener.

Water softener in a tight space

We played a joke with the customer and put the unhappy face on. It is what gets us through the day.
Monster softener
How big is the house that needs a water softener this size. Big, very big.
This fleck duplex unit feeds a rather large house. Fed with 35mm pipes they do not lack soft water.
We have just fully rebuilt it as it had been leaking due to lack of any real care from the passed company.
They called in Dorset Water Softeners and we got it fixed.
What exactly are these?
This week we have replaced two of these 'scale reducers' with proper block salt twin cylinder softeners.
These new houses in the purbecks had come with these 'devices' fitted, but it soon became clear to the new house owners that they had no useful benefit and their kettles, showers and taps were furring up.
We quickly took them out and fitted proper water softeners guaranteed to take out scale.
A tricky location
Some of our water softener installs can be a bit of a challenge, trying to find a location with water and drainage as well as convience for the customer.
On this install we ran tens of meters of pipes so that this water Softener in Highcliff could be put in a location that suited the customer.
One long day and a happy customer later the softener was installed under the stairs.

This softener has gone in a large house in Bournemouth where 3 generations are living together.

The customer has a 22mm water main and we managed to fit the unit in a small corner unit. Easy to put salt in and it uses an other wise dead space.

We had a call from a customer who really wanted a block salt Harvey water softener.
He had visits from two different company's who said it was not possible. To difficult, impossible.
After a 10 minute survey it was obvious it was possible with some clever thinking and some clever plumbing. It took longer to convince the customer it was possible after the so called experts said no.
Its fitted and soft water has made this man very happy as you can see.
